Music has the power to transform lives.  It gives expression to feelings that are hard to put into words, it heals, inspires, brings people together and helps us connect with each other and our emotions.

Singing in particular has countless benefits for ones well being.  It helps us to relax, de-stress, develop confidence and improves our mental and physical health.

The overall aim of the MyCool Music Foundation is to make a positive impact on the health and well being of individuals and communities through music.

We work for the public benefit by:

  • Helping people to express themselves, improve their health and wellbeing and enhance their lives.  We believe the advancement of the arts through the promotion of singing and music will enable and provide relief to those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.

  • Facilitating choir workshops for those recovering from traumatic/life changing experiences or life crises such as bereavement, breakdowns in relationships, mental health difficulties etc – who may benefit from the therapeutic value of singing

  • Developing songwriting sessions to help those experiencing life crises, bereavement or dealing with emotional challenges.  This may include songwriting for the terminally ill, victims of abuse, refugees or those who may simply need an outlet to express themselves in a positive way.

  • Providing music workshops for communities and organisations such as residential care homes for adults or children, hospices and other specialist units.

  • Supporting gifted and talented young people from disadvantaged/less privileged backgrounds to help develop their music and associated aspirations.

  • Fundraising and continuing to support other charitable organisations through our 'Giving Through Singing' initiative.

We are pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for funding from organisations and individuals.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of April 2020.
